ACG Education Universe - An online learning resource from the American College of Gastroenterology

Faculty/Contributers and Disclosures

It is the policy of the American College of Gastroenterology to ensure objectivity, balance, independence, transparency, and scientific rigor in all its sponsored educational activities.  All faculty participating in the planning or implementation of a sponsored activity are required to disclose to ACG any relevant financial relationship or other relationship held within the past 12 months that may pose a potential commercial bias and to assist in resolving any conflict of interest that may arise from the relationship.    The intent of this disclosure is not to prevent a speaker with a relevant financial or other relationship from making a presentation, but rather to provide listeners with information on which they can make their own judgments.

The vast majority of the material presented in the ACG Educational Universe has previously been presented in lecture or other learning format, and author disclosure information reflects the content and format for disclosure provided by the presenter as of the date that his/her material was presented and captured electronically, and in compliance with ACG policies and ACCME requirements in effect as of that date of presentation. Once possessing this information, it remains for the audience to determine whether the speaker’s interests or relationships may influence the presentation with regard to exposition or conclusion.

The ACG Education Universe contains a wide variety of education materials including lectures, journal articles, self-assessment test questions and more on topics addressing all aspects of gastroenterology. Author/presenter credentials and disclosure information is individually posted within each material. The absence of any such affirmative statement of disclosure means that the author/presenter submitted a complete disclosure statement at the time of their submission/presentation, and indicated that he/she had no relevant financial relationships to report.

Unapproved 'Off-Label' Usage Policy

If any unapproved or off-label use of a product is to be referenced in a CME program presentation, the faculty member shall be required to disclose that the product is either investigational or it is not labeled for the usage being discussed.

Commercial Support

Unrestricted educational grants have been received from AstraZeneca and Novartis in support of the ACG Education Universe.
